Every Rumored LEGO Technic 2027 Set So Far
The LEGO Technic lineup for 2027 is beginning to take shape, with early rumors pointing to everything from motorcycles and Monster Jam trucks to a new Solar System model and several mysterious builds aimed at adult fans.
At least 10 numbered Technic sets are currently rumored for the first half of 2027, with releases reportedly spread across January, March and potentially May. There's also a new Technic polybag expected to join the lineup.
One of the biggest early highlights is 42250 BMW M 1000 R, a rumored 675-part motorcycle expected in March. Other interesting additions include 42254 Planets of the Solar System in their Orbits, two new Monster Jam pull-back vehicles and two still-unidentified 18+ sets.
As always, none of these 2027 sets have been officially announced by the LEGO Group. Names, prices, number of parts, release dates and other details should be treated as rumors until officially confirmed.

The January wave currently appears to lean toward smaller and more accessible models, while March could bring several larger builds. The identities of 42248 and 42252 remain particularly interesting due to their substantial number of parts and reported 18+ age ratings.
42250 BMW M 1000 R Could Bring BMW Back to Technic
One of the most interesting additions to the rumored lineup is 42250 BMW M 1000 R, reportedly a 675-part motorcycle aimed at builders ages 10 and up and expected to arrive in March 2027.
The model would bring BMW Motorrad back to LEGO Technic following 42130 BMW M 1000 RR, which launched in 2022.
That earlier motorcycle was a significantly larger model, containing 1,920 parts and recreating the M 1000 RR at 1:5 scale. The rumored 2027 model's 675 parts would put it in a very different size category.
Current rumor reporting describes 42250 as another BMW motorcycle, although there isn't enough information yet to determine its exact scale, dimensions or functionality. If the BMW identification proves accurate, it will be interesting to see how LEGO approaches the motorcycle at a smaller scale while maintaining the mechanical features associated with the Technic theme.
42245 Helicopter Coming in March
A much smaller Technic model is also rumored for March. 42245 Helicopter is reportedly a 133-part set designed for builders ages 7 and up. No specific real-world helicopter or manufacturer has been associated with the model yet.
With only 133 parts, it appears likely to sit toward the entry-level end of the 2027 Technic lineup.
Technic has a long history of helicopter models featuring functions such as spinning rotors and other moving components, but there are currently no reliable details about what functions 42245 could include. For now, its small size and reported March release are the main details to watch.
42254 Planets of the Solar System in their Orbits
Vehicles won't be the only focus for Technic in 2027 if the latest rumors prove accurate. 42254 Planets of the Solar System in their Orbits is reportedly a 572-part set arriving in January.
The unusual name immediately makes this one of the more intriguing models in the current lineup. Rather than another car, truck or piece of construction equipment, the set appears to be another mechanically focused astronomy model.
There is an obvious comparison to 42179 Planet Earth and Moon in Orbit, which LEGO released in 2024. That 526-part model uses Technic gears and a hand crank to demonstrate the movement of the Earth and Moon around the Sun. The rumored name of 42254 suggests a model that could expand upon a similar idea by representing more of the Solar System.
However, no official images or functional details for 42254 have been revealed, so any connection between the two models remains speculation.
Mighty Machines Series 2 Rumored for January
The miniature Technic vehicle concept also appears set to continue. 42243 Mighty Machines Series 2 is currently rumored for January 2027 with just 48 parts. The set would follow the Mighty Machines collectible format with another assortment of miniature Technic vehicles.
At only 48 parts, 42243 is by far the smallest numbered Technic model currently associated with 2027. Exactly which vehicles will be represented in Series 2 remains to be seen, but another wave would give LEGO an opportunity to expand the miniature vehicle collection with new machinery and designs.
Two New Monster Jam Pull-Back Vehicles
Monster Jam also appears set to continue its long-running partnership with LEGO Technic in January.
Two new trucks are currently rumored:
42246 Monster Jam Classroom Crusher Pull-Back is reportedly a 320-part model priced at $34.99, while 42247 Monster Jam DinoSPIKE Pull-Back is listed at 249 parts and $34.99.
Both are expected to feature the pull-back functionality that has become a familiar part of the Technic Monster Jam range.
These sets allow builders to construct recognizable Monster Jam trucks while still incorporating the mechanical play functions associated with Technic. If the rumors hold, Classroom Crusher and DinoSPIKE will add two more trucks to an increasingly large collection of Monster Jam Technic models.
42244 Beach Buggy
Another smaller vehicle reportedly coming in January is 42244 Beach Buggy. The model is currently listed at 113 parts, making it one of the smallest conventional builds in the rumored wave.
Very few additional details have surfaced so far, and no U.S. price is currently listed in our chart.
Given its relatively low number of parts, Beach Buggy will likely be positioned as an accessible introduction to Technic rather than one of the theme's more complicated mechanical builds.
Two Mystery 18+ Technic Sets Could Be Major Releases
Perhaps the biggest unanswered questions surrounding the 2027 lineup are 42248 and 42252.
Both are reportedly designed for builders ages 18 and up, but neither model currently has a confirmed identity.
42248 is listed at a substantial 2,689 parts and is currently expected in March. That makes it the largest set in the current 2027 Technic rumor list by number of parts. Brickset's unreleased-set database also lists 42248 with 2,689 parts, adding further support to that reported count. Meanwhile, 42252 is reportedly another 18+ model containing 1,415 parts. Its exact release window is less certain, with current information pointing toward March or May 2027. Brickset currently lists the same 1,415-part count.
There isn't enough reliable information yet to determine what either model represents.
Large adult-oriented Technic sets frequently feature licensed vehicles and advanced mechanical functions, but anything more specific about these two sets would be speculation at this stage.
For now, 42248 in particular is one of the biggest Technic 2027 sets to watch as additional information begins to surface.
42249 Remains a Mystery
Another unidentified March set is 42249, reportedly containing 410 parts.
Unlike 42248 and 42252, this model isn't currently listed as an 18+ release, suggesting it could fall somewhere in the middle of the Technic range. Some rumor reporting has begun associating 42249 with another Monster Jam vehicle, but the identification isn't consistent enough yet to treat it as settled. The 410-part count itself is also listed by Brickset. Until more information emerges, we're keeping 42249 listed as TBC.
30761 Sun & Earth Technic Polybag
The main boxed lineup isn't the only Technic release rumored for 2027. 30761 Sun & Earth is also reportedly coming as a Technic polybag in January. The small model appears to continue the astronomy theme represented elsewhere in the rumored Technic lineup, although details remain limited. What to Expect From LEGO Technic in 2027
The first half of 2027 is shaping up to offer an unusually varied assortment of LEGO Technic models.
Smaller builds like Beach Buggy and Helicopter could provide more accessible entry points into the theme, while Mighty Machines Series 2 looks set to continue the miniature collectible vehicle concept.
Monster Jam fans could have another pair of pull-back trucks to collect, while the rumored BMW M 1000 R would add another licensed motorcycle to the Technic garage. Then there's Planets of the Solar System in their Orbits, which could take Technic in a completely different direction by combining mechanical functions with an astronomy-inspired display model.
The biggest mysteries remain 42248 and 42252. With 2,689 and 1,415 parts respectively, both have the potential to become significant releases during the first half of the year. And this is almost certainly not the complete Technic lineup for all of 2027. The current rumors are concentrated around the first several months of the year, leaving plenty of room for additional summer and later releases to emerge.
