Perhaps most exciting of all is the rumored return of a large Police Station alongside an all new High Speed Electric Passenger Train.

Formula 1 Returns to LEGO City

Following LEGO's successful Formula 1 partnership in 2026, the collaboration appears set to continue into 2027 with an even larger presence in LEGO City. Five rumored sets are centered around Formula 1, ranging from affordable race cars to larger display and transport builds.

Among the highlights are the F1 Truck with RB22 & VCARB, priced at a rumored $120, and the F1 Pit Wall with Williams & Aston Martin, which could become one of the most detailed playsets in the wave. Fans can also expect smaller offerings like F1 Alpine & Cadillac Cars and a Mercedes-AMG Driver set. If these rumors prove accurate, Formula 1 will remain one of LEGO City's biggest themes heading into 2027.

A New Modular LEGO CITY Police Station Headlines the Wave

Police continues to be one of LEGO City's flagship subthemes, and 2027 could introduce one of its biggest headquarters in years.

The rumored LEGO CITY Modular Police Station (60535) is set to be $110, suggesting a significantly larger build than many previous police stations. Joining it are three additional police themed sets that span multiple price points, including Police Car Chase, Police Helicopter Prison Break, and Police Truck & Undercover Police Car.

Together, these four sets would create one of the most complete police waves LEGO City has released in recent memory.

A New Passenger Train May Be on the Way

Train fans have plenty to be excited about if the rumors are accurate. The rumored LEGO CITY High-Speed Electric Passenger Train (60536) is expected to retail for around $180, making it one of the largest LEGO City sets of the January wave. Current passenger train models have been on shelves for several years, leading many collectors to believe a replacement was due. An updated high-speed train would continue LEGO City's long tradition of modern rail transportation while likely introducing refreshed track components, improved rolling stock, and updated Powered Up functionality.

Everyday Vehicles Continue to Expand LEGO City

As always, LEGO City includes a strong selection of civilian vehicles that help bring a bustling brick-built city to life.

The 2027 lineup is rumored to include an Ice Cream Truck, Garbage Recycling Truck, The LEGO Van, Popcorn Tuk Tuk, Green Stunt Plane, Monster Truck, and Race Car vs. Speed Boat. These smaller and mid-sized builds provide affordable entry points into the theme while offering plenty of play opportunities for younger builders.

Construction & Space Return

Construction remains one of LEGO City's longest running themes, with Dump Truck, Bulldozer & Cement Mixer reportedly arriving as a three vehicle playset.

Space is also expected to continue with the addition of the Interstellar Space Shuttle, building upon the futuristic space lineup LEGO introduced over the past several years. Although details remain limited, the continued presence of space-themed sets suggests LEGO sees the subtheme as an important part of City moving forward.

An Unusual Parade Float Rounds Out the Wave

One of the more unexpected rumored releases is LEGO CITY Fire, Police & Construction Parade Float (60541). Rather than focusing on emergency response or construction work, this unique set appears to celebrate three of LEGO City's most recognizable services in a festive parade setting.

It's an unusual concept for the City theme and could become one of the more distinctive releases in the lineup if the rumors hold true.

More LEGO City 2027 Rumors Are Still to Come

With January still months away, additional LEGO City rumors are almost certain to emerge. More set names, piece counts, official images, and release details are expected as retailers begin listing products and LEGO prepares for official announcements. We'll continue updating this page whenever new rumors, leaks, or official reveals surface.

Stay tuned for more updates on LEGO Sets coming in 2027, and keep an eye out for official images as the release dates draw closer.
