The latest LEGO Ideas project to reach 10k supporters on the platform is VIA RAIL CANADA - THE CANADIAN by user NickLafreniere1. It's the first LEGO Train to join the First 2021 Review Stage, but one of many to reach the review stage historically speaking. LEGO has yet to make a LEGO train using the IDEAS platform and this may lend to the fact that they typically release a CITY train set every couple of years and wouldn't want to compete with that theme. Currently, LEGO has 3 separate trains available for retail purchase, but there are no new trains coming down the pipeline in 2021 or 2022 as of yet, which may pave the way for an IDEAS train after all!
This latest project joins: The Shire, the Hobbithole of Frodo and Bilbo Baggins, Among Us: The Skeld Detailed Map, The Office, Castle of Lord Afol and the Black Knights, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, The House of Chocolate, The Simpsons – The Krusty Burger, Asterix and Obelix, 4½-Litre 1927-31 Bentley ‘Blower’, Scania Next Generation S730, The Karate Kid “Wax On, Wax Off”, Hyrule Castle (The Legend of Zelda), Metroid: Samus Aran’s Gunship, NASA’s SLS & Artemis, Lego Bookends, Animal Crossing: New Horizons Paradise, Claus Toys, Baba Yaga, The Castle of Brickwood Forest, The King's Castle, The Polar Express, Jazz Quartet and A Map of Middle Earth as the projects to reach the First 2021 Review Stage.
From the project creator:
Via Rail’s The Canadian is one of Canada’s most famous icons. Running from Toronto all the way to Vancouver, this 5 day train trip is one of the world’s longest train routes. The Canadian has been in operation since 1950 and still runs to this day. Featuring a Via Rail EMD F40PH-2D Locomotive and 3 unique train cars, The Canadian makes the ultimate LEGO train set.
This locomotive pulls 3 train cars: the baggage car, the Chateau sleeper car, and the Skyline dome car. Each train car has fully functional interiors to accommodate the minifigures on their travels.
This set is the ultimate gift for fans of travel, trains, models, and of course fans of LEGO. Even older adults with little-to-no LEGO experience will be impressed by the level of detail in this product.
Train measures 126 cm long, 5 cm wide, 10 cm tall. 2312 pieces.
Most of the decorated pieces are printed, making for an easy-to-assemble model.
Includes F40PH-2D locomotive and 3 passenger cars (baggage, sleeper, and dome), and 7 minifigures.
Compatible with the Powered UP 88009 Hub, 88001 Train Motor, 88005 Lights, and the Powered Up app.
Real sound effects (engine sound, bell, horn, doppler horn) from the Via Rail F40PH locomotive on the Powered Up app .
