Roman Segmented Chest Plate
Equip your minifig legionaries with the hallmark of Roman military engineering: the Lorica Segmentata. This LEGO-compatible torso armor features layered, articulated plates in a striking gunmetal finish—perfect for recreating the disciplined look of Rome’s elite heavy infantry.
Historically, the lorica segmentata came into widespread use during the early Imperial period, around the 1st century CE. Unlike the earlier lorica hamata (chainmail), this segmented armor offered improved protection while being lighter and more flexible. Its overlapping iron bands were held together by leather straps and buckles, allowing for ease of movement and modular repairs on the battlefield. It was typically issued to legionaries—the backbone of Rome’s professional army—and became a defining symbol of Roman power and discipline.
Combine it with the Roman Galea helmet, scutum shield, and gladius to complete your legionary's loadout. Check out the rest of our Roman Collection for more great imperial Minifig accessories!
